My Capstone Experience
ABOUT ME... My name is Stephanie Marquez. I am a senior here at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy (SMSA). I came to SMSA just last year as a junior looking for the opportunity to play sports on a high school team. Prior to that I attended Kinsella Magnet School of the Performing Arts. I have always loved sports. I started by participating at recreational events, later doing Track & Field and working my way up to competing for Team USA. At the age of 13, I earned a spot to compete at the IWAS Jr. World Championships in Puerto Rico. Coming home with a gold medal in the discus. I had two more tremendous opportunities in 2014 (London) and 2015 (Amsterdam). This past summer I competed at US Paralympic Trials where I fell short of making the cut to be one of the sixty six athletes to compete in Track & Field. Currently, I am training for Jr. World Championships in Switzerland. I have a hard work ethic that shows on and off the field. I have been a National Honor Society Member since last year. |
